An Exercise in Perspective

by: Kristina

This year, I am participating in Kim Klassen's Beyond Beyond course (which is still open for registration).  It is a year long course that provides you with a weekly dose of inspiration including tips and tricks for Photoshop, Lightroom, textures, and more.

I love Kim's classes.  She has such a great way of explaining things and is so very creative and brings together a wonderful community of photographers.  You should definitely check out her course offerings.

I have to admit, I'm a bit behind in my lessons and am trying to catch up.  Things have been a bit hectic around here......I'm sure you know how that goes......

Anyway, our first  lesson was to shoot one object from various angles without moving the object for 30 minutes and to choose our favorites.  I decided to shoot this jar of buttons.  I'm in love with Ball jars these days.  I love them for holding my pens, washi tape, buttons, coins......I love their functionality as well as vintage look.

The lesson was a great and really had me think about perspective and composition.  It had me slow down and look at the details of the jar....the glass....the lid....the colors.......

Below are my favorites from this little assignment......
