Photographing the Super Moon

by Kristina

Over the weekend I was very excited to try and photograph the Super Moon.  In case you didn't see posts popping up about it on your Facebook feed, the Super Moon occurred on June 23rd and it was the largest moon of the year.  On this night it was at its biggest and brightest because the moon was at its closest point in its orbit to the earth.

Unfortunately, here in Northern California we had a cloudy evening on June 23rd which made capturing the moon let alone seeing it impossible.  Thankfully, I had gone out on the evening of the 22nd and snapped a few photos of the full moon (which I guess technically was not Super).

Anyway, here are the few that I captured.  Check out this article from Universe Today to see some amazing photos of images captured from all over the world.  If you were able to get some Super Moon photos, we'd love to see them.  Please post them on our Facebook wall or leave a link to your image in the comment section below.
